Getting to Sicily

Flight time from UK to Palermo in the NW and Catania in the East of Sicily is just over 3 hours. There are a number of car ferries from mainland Italy to the island and the Palermo-Rome sleeper train crosses the Straits of Messina by ferry in the evening.
